Round Corner Brewing Claim An Impressive Nine Medals
Round Corner Brewing have claimed World’s Best Strong Porter, for Underwater Song, at the 2024 World Beer Awards, alongside 8 other medals – including Frisby Lager being awarded England Country Winner in the Lager – Classic Pilsner category.
Held annually, the Melton Mowbray brewery has an impressive history at the World Beer Awards, claiming medals every year since 2020. The beers which claimed medals varied from lager to IPA, showing testament to the brewery’s impressive ability to brew a variety of beer styles to an award-winning standard.
The most impressive achievement by far, is Underwater Song Baltic Porter winning World’s Best Strong Porter, and England Gold for Strong Porter. One of Round Corner Brewing’s most highly awarded beers, this long matured Baltic Porter is a stunningly complex, yet drinkable 8.2% beauty, fermented at 10°C with lager yeast and then cold-lagered for smoothness. Adding to its long list of medals, this year Underwater Song also claimed Gold in two categories at the 2024 International Brewing & Cider Awards.
Winning the England Country Winner Lager Pilsner category was Frisby Lager. A lager which is no stranger to awards with 11 total, recently winning two Silver medals at the 2024 European Beer Challenge, and 2024 International Brewing & Cider Awards. This lager contains the finest German pilsner malt and English wheat malt to forge a classically smooth lager beer.
England Silver winner in the IPA – Specialty category is 10 Hours In L.A.Pacific Pale Ale. This is Round Corner Brewing’s vision of the perfect Pacific Pale Ale - deliciously soft with a restrained bitterness and luscious tropical fruit hop aroma.
Steeplechase Pale Ale won England Silver Pale Beer – American Style IPA. A beer that won Double Gold at the 2024 European Beer Challenge, pours a sumptuous orange hue provided by a base of the finest English barley malts.
Our summer seasonal Orange Lager – Layover, also won England Silver, Specialty Beer – Gluten-Free. This pale unfiltered lager is new for 2024 and is already winning awards in its maiden year.
Last, but not least, claiming Bronze for IPA – Session, is Drovers. Another beer which is highly awarded, Drovers also won the trophy for World’s Best Keg Ale at the 2024 International Brewing & Cider Awards.
The World Beer Awards are global awards selecting the very best in all the international recognised styles, awarding and promoting the world’s best beers to consumers and trade across the globe.
Round Corner Brewing's Co-Founder & Brewing Director, Colin Paige said: "We are absolutely delighted with our results at the World Beer Awards 2024. With every beer entered - getting a medal. For Frisby to win the best Pilsner in the UK confirms something we always knew - what a special beer Frisby Lager is.
