Since our foundation in 2018 we are one of the highest performing breweries at the major international Brewing Awards. Steeplechase Pale Ale is the current Trophy holder for the World’s Best Ale at the Oscars of Beer – The International Brewing Awards. In 2023 we scooped multiple medals at the European Beer Challenge including a Double Gold, and 4x Gold medals. At the World Beer Awards, we were awarded 4x Country Winners and Gold medals.
We grew rapidly through 2023 and to enable us to continue to growth through 2024, we have recently taken on a new warehouse facility a short drive from our brewery. This role is to manage the day-to-day activities and movements at our warehouse and also provide one day a week delivery driving. Role will be primarily based at our warehouse in Melton Mowbray, but some time will need to be spent at the brewery.
Job Description
Reporting to the COO – Colin Paige your accountabilities will include:
- Manage all stock and raw material movements between the brewery and the warehouse.
- Make up pallets for despatch to wholesale and trade customers.
- Make up loads for our delivery drivers and assist them to load up.
- Manage fleet load weights and driver route planning.
- Manage warehouse floor space and stock rotation, to ensure our absolute freshest stock in trade.
- Unload empty kegs and casks back at the brewery.
- Forklift driving, loading, and unloading using a counterbalance FLT and an electric straddle stacker.
- Communicate with our 3PL suppliers and book pick-ups in and then ensure they are loaded with correct paperwork.
- Analysing our supply chain and solving any issues in real time and implementing alternative plans to ensure world class customer service.
- Maintaining our computer systems, so movements are all accounted for.
- Stock counts – this role will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock counts are completed regularly and stocks are reflected in our inventory system and reported back to the business.
- Delivery of beer in kegs, casks, and cases to local accounts within the East Midlands, this role will see Friday as a delivery day with some other occasional days needed for leave cover, and peak period cover.
- Measured by Delivery in-full, on-time and error free. (DIFOTEF)
- Good housekeeping and hygiene. Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy. Driving high standards and put systems in place to maintain these.
Skills and Experience
Your skills should include:
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck License is highly desirable.
- A clean driver’s license is essential and be confident to drive a 3.5 tonne van.
- Manual Handling Experience – Physically fit be able to lift 25kg repetitively. Must also be able to move 30L & 50L kegs and 9G casks of beer (training will be provided)
- Someone with a passion for beer, teamwork, and logistics. We are searching for someone who wants to grow and develop and is excited about being part of this amazing industry. Someone who will go above and beyond to ensure success for themselves and Round Corner Brewing Ltd.
- Working autonomously, much of this role, will be working apart from your team.
- Computer skills. You will be trained on Breww our brewing and inventory platform, to ensure all movements are completed, on time and error free.
- Thoughtful, measured and considered approach. “Measure twice, cut once”.
- Good communicator – excellent communication is critical within our small team and with our customers.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively across the business.
- Respectful of others and a positive and friendly attitude with a great customer service mentality and an infectious passion for Beer

Good To Have, But Not Essential
- A minimum of 12 months experience in FCMG warehouse operations is desirable.
- A qualification in maths and English such as GCSE level C or above.
